The Move

I haven't been paying enough attention to this blog for sometime and it really isn't because of the wonderful readers that supported me, the time I spent scrapooking and sharing stories about life - I have cherished every moment.

For the past year I haven't had the time or the inspiration to scrapbook and that was the primary focus of this blog. I still love paper craft with all  my heart and I love the idea of handmade so I have been looking for ways to include this into my creative life.

I was away on sabbatical earlier this year and it gave me time to reflect and search for what my true north really is. From this time away two new ventures were born:
(1) A new lifestyle blog that will encompass my love for paper goods, goodies I love and food called Lovey Dovey. This site is still in it's infancy and I'm excited and nervous to share it but I know it's going to be awesome for me!
(2) A new photography site where I can share my passion for photography with others Amanda Anne (still putting the final details on this one but its due to launch early next year)

I do hope you will pop over and visit me at my new home on the web - I have missed my readers very much!.

Weekend Check-In

I'm still progressing with Project 365 this year and it's been loads of fun! I have learned so much about myself, and realized a few interesting things: like how many cupcakes I eat and that if sushi wasn't so expensive I may just eat it everyday! I have been working this weekend on putting all my photos into a printed album from this cool little shop called Paper Coterie so that I have a keepsake of this little project. I thought I would leave you with a little photo collage that I made using Picassa which for those of you who don't know is free and the latest version has a few cool picture effects that I applied to the set below [see it's not just Instagram that can give you this cool effect so if you don't own any Apple products yet, don't fret, all is not lost!

Hope your weekend was great and for those of you in sunny South Africa you can look forward to a public holiday off on Wednesday - YAY!!!

Shopping Up a Storm....

If you haven’t seen the latest fad in beauty to hit the shores of South Africa then you need to check out Glam Box, Ruby Box or Glossy Box and you will see what this is all about: basically you subscribe to them and they send you samples [and sometimes full size products] in a box each month of the latest “stuff” out there to try out. I’ve subscribed to Glam box for a short while and got a special once off Ruby Box just for fun, and they have been worth the money + you get all your goodies delivered to your door in super snazzy packaging. I did this really because I wanted to check out packaging that would appeal to woman for my business but it turned out to be quite fun to receive the goods....

The Ruby Box collection I ordered:

Then on a great note for those living in Jozi or visiting Jozi soon {wink-wink-nudge-nudge to those coming up for ScrapbookEx later this year] there is a cool new show in the new wing of Sandton City called Cotton On and they have some seriously hip clothing – they also stock a range of AWSOME stationary type stuff called Typo which I think is well worth checking out {I got myself a set of stamps this arvie that rock!}.

Instagram

Ok, so I didn't get an iPhone with my last cellphone contract upgrade [arrgh].... it was a little too rich for my blood.... I did get a Samsung Galaxy II though and it's pretty darn cool!! The only thing it's missing is Instagram which is exclusively hosted with the Apple iStore. I do kinda like the effects though so I given I have an iPad I figured I needed to play around this evening and find out how easy it would be to get my photo's onto my iPad and up to Instagram to post. Well.... it's been a bit of a mission but I got it right, I posted all of my February project 365 photo's this evening and figured out how to: View them in my own little on-line gallery, to download them to my hard drive [on a Windows machine] using Instaport and then last but not least Printstagram for those of you who would like to print a cute little photo book like this one {how cute}!

Have fun!!
